Two days of procrastination. If the human race needed instruction as to how to do this, I would be putting myself forward to write the manual. What possible evolutionary benefit this ability might once have had, I can't imagine. Did cro-magnon man put off going out hunting in favour of tiding up the cave. or watching the fire flicker, or drawing on the walls? Perhaps that's what the cave drawings represent, that famous hunting scene says 'I should be out there on the plain with my lance, but I had to do this essential charcoal drawing, and now I have to make more charcoal. Never mind, the buffalo will still be there tomorrow.'
I should have been doing my college work. I read the required newspaper article. It was interesting. I highlighted the key passages. Since then though, I've put off the tough stuff. There has been no getting out of pen and paper, no note taking and writing. Less than a week in, and I'm already behind schedule. I would like to think that my hesitancy is about lack of confidence. I was thrown early on by much of the course being accessed on line. I have never had to study in this way and it is a steep learning curve. Now I'm at the bit I could probably do quite easily, I've come to a stop in favour of.....
The living room is cleaner than it has been in ages, I washed the skirting boards (yes, you read that right). I even picked up the poop in the back yard. The star quilt top has been growing, it's almost double the width of a month ago. I've watched several films, ordered some stuff from Amazon, and I'm doing extremely well on the four facebook games I play. I'm developing strong opinions about the designers on Project Runway. All of these things are vital and can't be given up in favour of four hours of study. No way, no how.
I would make a start on those notes on the shanty town of Kibera now, but unfortunately, I have to go and shop.
