Lovely half term day with H and Darcy. Warm and overcast, so Darcy in the mood for adventure. H at her best, sweet and talkative. Went to McDonalds for lunch. Somehow couldn't taste it. Maybe the long held addiction is fading. Is it something to do with being over 40? I remember the first time I had one in Leeds as a student, it tasted so much better. Maybe now I will get the taste for sophisticated eateries with lunchtime table d'hote featuring scallops. H and I then survived Morrisons.
We took Darcy and cameras to the Memorial Park, having a photographic competition between the two of us. H won, far and away. My efforts were poor. It made me notice a lot of graffiti, but my best photo is as shown. Poo. Darcy muddied himself up nicely and jumped up at too many people. Back at the carpark, there were two young women sitting hip to hip with their young boxer dog. Darcy ran up, so we talked for a few seconds. It was the first time I had seen H being assessed by young women. It felt the same as when I became aware a few years ago that Nina was being assessed by men. The additional glances were in my direction in a 'was I aware ?' kind of way. When we moved on, I Said, "Friends of yours?" H laughed. "Well the gaydar was twitching, yes."
Peaceful evening walking Nina to her class and planning the big trip tomorrow. Darcy and I both extra sleepy now!
