These Songs Could Be Used In Adverts

Gareth Richards is an ace comedian who I first saw early last year at a Richard Herring headliner in Kings Heath. At the time, he had a fabulous gag about filesharing and handbags (you had to be there). My brother Rich and I saw him in Edinburgh on the free fringe as Packer Richards one of that cardi-wearing twosome. He’s since disappeared from my radar, apart from his work on Frank Skinner’s Absolute Radio show. Unfortunately, he’s very much in the background on there, but at least he gets to put ‘Silver Sony Award winning’ on his flyers.

I’m delighted to find that Gareth has put out his comic song stylings on mp3, These Songs Could Be Used In Adverts. Dave the Fridge is just fabulous. My favourite line, “My friend Dave is white/Just like a fridge”. I’d pay £3.49 just for that, but for £3.49 you get an ep of five songs. If you’re stingy, you could just buy Mum Song for your male spouse and listen to the laughter of familiarity. Go get it.
